The Forgotten Partner

I thrust my body forward
My offering makes is flight
My quarry takes the challenge
I bend to make a fight

His massive weight is crippling
It feels my back will break
My endurance at its limit
But everything’s at stake

The battle finally over
Now I‘m standing tall
But my valor is soon forgotten
As I am propped against the wall

For him, he takes the glory
To me, he gives no thought
As he tells them all the story
About the fish he caught!
